Shop Small + Local, Holiday 2020 Guide

With Saturday being shop small + local day…

I wanted to share with you all a few of my favorite DC spots to grab gifts or even a few treats for yourself. Please share some of your favorite local finds in the comments below. I’m always looking for a new places to check out!

The Fashion Lover

Reddz Trading Company: Known for it’s luxury items this place boasts as not a treasure hunt, but a treasure chest. This is an amazing stop for someone who loves a good designer piece! In the image above you can see my Chanel bracelet (purchased from Reddz) which is actually a vintage button that was made into a one of a kind jewelry item.

Ella-Rue: Founded by two sisters, this shop is a beautifully curated mix of consignment pieces and unique ready to wear lines. Come in to find well made pieces that will last forever in your closet.

The Interior Obsessed

Salt & Sundry: A beautiful lifestyle and home decor store filled with craft pieces from independent makers who are local and from across the globe. They started as a pop up in Union Market and have expanded into a second location in Logan Circle.

Little Leaf: A plant lovers heaven and the sister store to Little Leaf. Come here to find unique and beautiful plants, handmade pots, and small paper goods. Not only can you purchase plants, but the team is a wealth of knowledge on how to care for your new plant baby. Their instagram has daily tips and Q&A!

The Beauty Lover

S+P Med Spa: S+P is a one stop shop for all of your skincare needs - in a super safe and clean medical facility. Get your beauty lover a gift card to book an appointment with their amazing aesthetician Ashley Taylor or grab them products from their high end medical grade selection.

The Workout Junkie

Hustle, DC: Founded by local DC Master Spin instructor Sunny Mae Miller Hustle provides killer workouts on and off the bike. Classes are both virtual and in-person (either outside at the Wharf pier or inside when COVID restrictions permit) so whatever your comfort level there is an option for you. Along with spin classes Sunny also teaches HIIT classes throughout the week too. Currently you can purchase the Hustle at-home bike for an amazing Black Friday price-point!

The Coffee Snob

Grace Street Coffee: For the coffee lover it doesn’t get any better than Grace Street Coffee. Stop in for a beautifully curated coffee experience or grab a bag of their in-house roasted coffee. A bag of their modern specialty coffee beans makes the perfect gift for the coffee snob.

Bonus: The Wine Lover:

Greenhill Winery & Vineyards: A bonus spot due to the fact that it isn’t in DC proper, but instead about 45 minutes west of the city out in Middleburg. Not only do you get some beautiful horse country scenery but you’ll leave with some seriously delicious wines as well. Perfect for a Saturday outing - some wine tasting for you around one of their outdoor bonfires and take home bottles for gifts for others.
