Inn at Perry Cabin, Staycation

After a long and busy summer we decided it was the perfect time for a getaway.

I did a  bit of research and we decided to treat ourselves to a little staycation at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels Maryland. It is a wonderful little gem on the eastern shore of Maryland about 45 mins from Annapolis.

We decided to go for a magical 24 hours kid free. You heard me right, KID FREE! We planned  to make it extra fun and travel by boat.  When we arrived the staff was waiting on the dock for our arrival and helped us tie up and prepare the boat for overnight.

The hotel was immaculate and has followed all the proper hygiene protocols. All staff were in masks and as guests you are required to wear masks in all public areas. The staff was very friendly and even upgraded our room.  They made sure we took advantage of all the hotel perks which included a credit for dining at the hotel. They were all extremely accommodating and informative with making reservation selections or directing us to nearby activities. We loved our views of the bay and had a very nice size room.  After checking in we made a bee-line to the pool for a quick dip and cocktail.

We had reservations that evening at the hotel restaurant Stars for dinner.  Guys, if you have a special occasion coming up this is the place for you.  They put us in a private room overlooking the water at night. I had one of the best crabcakes I have ever had. I believe you should always try to enjoy the local favorites and when in Maryland, crabcakes are a must! Absolutely amazing!  After dinner we took a night time stroll around the property. It was beautiful looking at the stars and we had a night cap by the the fire pits overlooking the water.

The next morning for breakfast I ordered scrambled eggs with a crabcake. Yolo right?   I just couldn’t get enough of the their delicious crabcake. We asked the chef and he revealed the secret ingredient was extra lemon zest. Shhh! I am hungry just writing about this dreamy meal.  My husband had duck scrapple a local favorite. He had never had that before and he loved it.

We then took a bike ride into the town of St. Michaels which has cute shops and lovely local restaurants just minutes from the resort. St. Michaels has so much to take in – history, design, charm…it has it all! We had a delightful time at the Inn at Perry Cabin.  We can’t wait to visit again since it so close but feels like a world away!  It was the great escape we needed. I hope these travel tips were helpful for your next weekend adventure!
