Moving Day! Part One

Moving Day! Part One

Moving day…

The day was finally here!  While moving is exciting it can also be stressful. I tried to pretend all the boxes would magically fill themselves and poof we would be in our new location! I mean people on Instagram Reels seem to keep showing things happening with the snap of a finger…haha! Does anyone else feel this way?

My husband, our two children and our dog moved to Washington D.C about 2 years ago.  When we were looking at different areas, we really wanted to be in a walkable neighborhood especially coming from a smaller rural Pennsylvania town.  We liked being near the city; close to fun restaurants, walking to parks for the kids and knowing everyone on our street.  After a lot of research we settled on Georgetown, DC.  We couldn’t be happier with the choice.

We had begun to outgrow our space, so when the time came to start looking at new houses we knew we wanted to stay in Georgetown. As luck would have it, we came across a house just 2 blocks away. It is a 1950’s colonial that we bought from the original owner. It has not had an update in 30 years and needs a lot of love! A project my husband and I are excited for as this will be our 4th house we have renovated together.

Since we ended up selling our current house before renovations could be completed we are in a temporary spot down at the shore. So this is part one of our big move! We cant wait to share with you the process along the way from picking out kitchen finishes, kids room must haves to outdoor landscaping. Stay tuned for more!
